calendar.png  Is your bill for a longer period than usual?

Energy billing periods can fluctuate and don't always cover the same number of days. If your bill is a bit beefier than usual, this could be the culprit.

 

invoice.png Is this your first bill with us?

Sometimes your starting meter read will be based on an estimated read, you might see a higher first bill from us and a lower final bill from your previous provider. Don’t worry—future invoices will reflect your actual usage.

 

estimated_read.png  Was you bill calculated on an estimated meter read?

If your meter reader couldn’t access your meter, we may have had to calculate based on previous usage.

Got new gadgets? They might be guzzling more energy than you think. Check your appliance's manual or energy efficiency label. Curious how much juice they're using? Visit energyrating.gov.au/calculator and see for yourself.

 

season.png Has the weather changed?

Changing seasons can hit your energy bill hard. Blasting the AC in summer or cranking the heater in winter? Compare your current usage with the same period last year using the summary graph on page two of your bill. For tips to reduce winter energy costs, click here.

 

visitors.png Visitors and holidays

Extra time at home and guests during holidays can spike your energy usage. More showers, more devices charging, more washers and dryers running—it's a recipe for a bigger bill.

 

money.png Did you have an outstanding balance?

Didn’t pay the full amount last time? The balance rolls over to your next bill. Check page one of your invoice for any leftovers. You can check your current balance in MyAccount.

 

Solar.png  Has there been less sun for your Solar?

Cloudy days dulling your solar panel's shine? That means less local generation and smaller Feed-in Tariff credits, which can bump up your bill.

 

concession.png  Missing an energy concession?

If you're eligible for a concession but it's missing from your account, please make sure you add it the details in MyAccount or by calling us on 1300 693 637.

South Australian residents – you can register your Energy Locals account details with the Department of Human Services (DHS) to claim a concession on your energy bill.

 

hardship.png Have you had difficulty paying your bill?
